National Challenges Bring PA and Probation Chiefs Closer
Together
The PA and the Probation Chiefs Association have a greed a joint
approach towards policy development in order to best respond to the
challenges facing the service.
Minister: Trusts Have Stepped Up
Justice Minister Crispin Blunt told Trust Chairs that their
organisations had responded magnificently to the summer riots - and
to the Government's reform proposals.
Parliamentary Date Confirmed
The second Probation Association Parliamentary Reception is to be
held on Tuesday, December 6.
Christine To Leave Mid-Oct
Chief Executive Christine Lawrie will leave the PA on October 14.
She will be succeeded by Mark Ormerod, currently Chief Executive of
the Law Commission.
NNC Update
The trades unions have expressed concern, within the National
Negotiating Council, about issues relating to competition,
particularly potential conflicts of interest for employees and the
integrity of the NNC agreement.
Health And Safety
H&S training for board members and senior managers has become
more important with NOMS no longer having the national lead for
H&S matters.
Future Leaders
Thirty-six applications have been received for the first cohort of
the PA/PCA/NOMS Leadership Development Programme.
